fork upgrades for GT550 + 4LS brake

Post by jabcb »

background…
Have two GT750s. One is stock.
The other has an 82 GS1100 front end. Used Progressive Suspension lowering kit to get correct ride height & appropriate spring rate. Its rides much better over small bumps & doesn’t bottom out like the stock one does over the big bumps.

questions…
Working on a 72 GT250 cafe build that will use the 4LS brake.
Are there any fork tubes &/or front ends that are upgrades and work with the 4LS brake + axle?
Would be fine with using 35mm fork tubes + stock triple tree, or a triple tree swap.

Alternatively, any thoughts on using the 4LS brake with GS-series forks designed for disc brakes?

Have the stock fork lower tubes ready for the powder coater. So now is the time to ask before I start spending $$$ on the stock forks.

Fit the complete forks with the original triple tree. A friend did just that on his T500.
You know the wheel and all associated bracketry fits then.
Fork leg bottoms look really good polished - just laquer them to keep the shine, or keep them bare and shiny.
Think of how stupid the average person is, then realise that half of them are more stupid than that.
