Stock GT 550 Suspension needs some serious upgrade help!

Post by vmxwinn »

Hi All, I need some advice on what others have done to improve there stock forks.

I have serivced my forks with new seals and oil to the stock settings and they are springing, soft and just dangerous for any kind of spirited riding. They need to be totally reworked!

As far as shocks go, I will buy some quality units sprung and valved for my weight.

Thanks,

I'd start with Gold Vale Cartridge Emulators - or whatever the correct term is from Race-tech and Race Tech springs if they have something suitable and suitable decent fork oil plus a set of good shocks as you mentioned.
