Spectro 2T 100% Synthetic?

Post by Madbuffalo »

Any opinions on this injector oil? I'm using Valvoline marine 2-cycle oil now since it's all I've been able to find in my area but would like to switch to a good synthetic oil. I've used Golden Spectro pre-mix oil in my dirt bikes religiously since I was about 16 but just found this injector oil on their website. $12.95 USD per liter so it seems to be a good price too.
No really... it's supposed to smoke.

Just ordered a bottle so I guess I'll see how I like it and post my thoughts.

I have been using Pennzoil full synthetic in my GT500 for about three years now. I just changed the plugs with 10,000 miles on them, could probably use a sparkplug cleaner (battery powered) just to brighten them up a little and stick'em back in. I still put new ones in, but kept the old ones, they still had good electrodes and good color on the insulators. Spectro has had a good reputation, at least I have not heard anything bad about their products.

To follow up I've got about 900 miles on the newly rebuilt motor using Spectro 2T 100% Synthetic. The bike's running great and the Valvoline smoke cloud is gone. I have to say I miss the smoke trail a little bit but I guess it's an indicator that everything's running cleaner internally. Might need to update my signature. :(

If you have to order oil over the net, I'd suggest you look at http://www.silkolenestore.com" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; It's part of Moto Liberty and Audrey that runs it has supported 2 stroke racers for years. Great oil, great service and they are part of the family.
