GT550 starter clutch rub?

Post by RossB »

Happy New Year!
Here we go putting my engine back together notice after putting clutch and starter clutch gear there was some binding and couldn't move starter clutch gear it should move free when not engaged.
Took it apart found that back of starter clutch gear rubbing on face of bearing race put some magic marker rubbed right off (pick photo) they don't show any washer on that face in manual but it's rubbing? 2nd
Washer that goes on face of starter clutch gear is really worn bad. Pictures to prove it!
Thanks Gents!
