Post by RossB »

Hello Gents
Putting my 74 T500 back together.I have a lot of play on the basket after its tight, sleeve timing spot on
Looks like bronze sleeve worn about .004 it worth making new bronze sleeve? Can't find one at Walmart!? Any suggestions? I have 2 clutch rods can't get any answers on that, book shows 1?
Thanks!

Sleeve timing? Huh? All you should have between clutch cam and pressure plate is one push rod and one release rod. (The short beefy double ended pecker). Sounds like maybe you should rebush the clutch basket. Maybe.

What I meant with timing of the sleeve is it isn't to long allowing it to move back and forth between thrush washers. Cool? Just order some bronze little pricey thanks for clearing up clutch rod question.
Thank you
