T500 clutch rods?

Hey boys
Just getting engine together little confused my bike has two clutch rods one long that goes to clutch basket the other goes into the clutch seal then pushes against long one, manual shows one? It works
But what up!

Earlier engines had two clutch rods, not sure what year they went to one. The 68 Cobra also had two but different lengths than later versions.
68 B100P x2

76 GT185 x2
81 GS650G x2

Looked at manual again and it shows 2 rods same part number the old one was bent in a S shape?
