Have 76 GT750 & 77 GT380 owners manuals. Suzuki Transmission Oil was recommended in both.
The manuals don’t mention the viscosity of that oil, but some time ago I found a can of it listed for sale on eBay. It’s 80W.
Since then I have been gradually switching over to Bel-Ray 80W-85 Gear Saver Transmission Oil.
Might be a bit confusing, but transmission oil & motor oil are rated on a different scale. That’s why 80W transmission oil was recommended with alternative of 20W/40 motor oil.
what oil for gt550 gearbox?

Re: what oil for gt550 gearbox?
i've always used 20/50 in all my t's and gt's, from 185 up to 750. just normal 20/50, not synthetic. i know a lot of classic racers use semi synth 20/40 and look at the extra work their gearboxes have to do. i wouldn't use anything else other than normal 20/50 as i've NEVER had a problem with it
