Gt380 oil consumption

Post by wardy205 »

I know this subject has been covered in some detail but I was wondering if anyone has measured how much oil their gt380 actually uses. The figures I have found state that roughly 1cc should be used in 20minutes at tickover but the best I can get mine down to is 1cc in 10 minutes. This is with the pump backed off right to its stop, if I set the pump to the marks I should ,I get oil spitting out of the exhausts and it uses 1cc in 5mins.I have checked I haven't got the lever 180 degrees out.Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I had a GT750 oil pump with the lever 180 degrees out.

See my topic on how to figure this out: viewtopic.php?f=2&t=11662&hilit=oil+pump
Photobucket screwed with the posts, so I reposted all the pics at the end using Flickr.

The triples use the same pumps with somewhat different internal parts to get the correct flow rates.
So this topic will also apply to your GT380.

Hi jabcb the first thing I did was check the pump but its all good I might have to leave it backed off to the stop and try running it and see how much oil spits out then.At least its not running with too little.
