Methanol.
I just happen to have some lying around at work, and wondered if it might work in my GT? I always thought that it was good for high compression four-strokes, what will it do to, or for, my kettle?

Excellent question. Increase jetting by 130% ie to 230% of stock flow and tip it in. After a run or a weekend, drain and flush the complete fuel
system.
You might be pleasantly surprised how much extra power it makes. You can also increase compression considerably for a huge bottom end hit, and you may need to advance the ignition timing a little or a lot.
If I were you I would probably set up a spare set of carbs because you will have modified or replaced float needle, needle jet, jet needle and main jet. Methanol is highly tolerant of rich mixtures but intolerant of lean mixtures. 20% too rich won't hurt, but 5% lean probably will. If you have a fiberglass tank, it must be lined or drained at the end of each day.

That video is a little misleading. I think they mean that they use methanol injection into the incoming air to increase charge density and to cool the charge after the supercharger to reduce the risk of detonation. Usually it's water/methanol mix and was used in WW2 in many supercharged planes. I don't think it's the primary fuel.

I took it to mean that they add methanol injection when the green light on the dash lights up -- then they are still using gas but they add methanol.

That's probably true, but he power increase is not so much because it's a fuel, but because it cools the charge and allows it to build more boost without self destructing.
