Hi All & Merry Christmas to everyone
Background first;
I have put 600 fun miles on my GT 750 since restoration ( Oct 2013 )
and now ( perhaps always ) the upper ( larger ) black tips on the rear of
the exhaust are dripping oil / fuel onto the the lower ( smaller ) black tips.
When I ride below 75 mph I can't see any blue smoke but at 75 mph and over she smokes ( I can see the blue smoke ).
My issue / problem is;
When I return home and park in the attached garage my wife raises
hell about the smell of gas. I have also noticed the smell of oil & gas on
my riding jacket & close, which I don't mind except when I'm wearing my business threads.
So, my question is, is this normal ???
Is there a way to reduce the smell in the garage and on my clothes ???

For about 6 years my only form of transport was a GT750. I used to notice an aroma on my wife's clothing (she was a passenger to and from work) - she never complained...
Mine didn't smoke much from memory...then again my memory is crap these days.
Maybe yours is running a little bit rich?

I believe the smoke you're seeing is probably all the accumulated goop and crud in the pipes burning off, you see it at 75+ because the engine is starting to work hard and getting the pipes nice and hot.
It can take several hundred hard miles to burn & blow all the old crap out.
I used to boost the Wife Acceptance Factor by leaving the bike OUTSIDE the garage for a couple hours to cool down, and then put it in the garage. Hey presto, no gas smell

The nature of on oil burning 2-stroke will always have more of an odor than a 4-stroke machine. It becomes more of an issue is they aren't ridden long enough or often enough to burn off residual oil what accumulates when the engine and exhaust are still cold. Short rides, infrequent use, and easy cruising at 3000 RPM all will contribute ti the problem.
Another potential problem can be the oil line check valves. When the bike sits for a long period of time, if one or more of the check valves leak by, oil accumulates in the bottom of the engine case. A lot of oil can cause damage, but even a small amount will eventually get pulled up into the fuel mixture, and get pushed out into exhaust pipes.
You shouldn't be seeing oil dripping out of your exhaust. To me, that shows that, at some point, way too much oil found its way into the engine. I don't know your riding style, but if there is too much residual oil in the pipes, even a long, hard ride may not be enough to clean it out.
