Suzuki 2 Strokes

I recieved my .080 cylinder spacer and my 72mm head gasket to match my 72mm bore. Fabulous service and craftsmanship from Cometic, not cheap but you get what you pay for. In previous posts and my own observations, the exact centerline distance from bore to bore is not perfect. I still do not know exactly what the spacing is but my problem now is that my new head gasket will not perfectly align with all three bores without some overhang into the combustion chamber, about .010", hence the advice from you yall about adding dowels to positively locate the gasket to the mating parts. Cometic will accept a return of the gasket but restocking fee's do apply. I was shooting for a zero deck but now I'm wondering if I should just machine a negative .010" to the deck height for the spacer addition or ask for a 73mm head gasket to get the clearance.

73mm gasket should be fine.

Or you can go with a copper gasket of say 71mm that you can position on your cylinder and file or dremal to a perfect fit , and they are reuseable .

Considering what I paid for this gasket and that it is sooo much higher quality than what is available otherwise, I'm gonna keep the one I have and I just ordered a 73mm head gasket for this engine. I'll bulid another engine with a smaller bore and I will use the gasket I have or possibly if someone needs a 72mm X .043" Cometic CFM head gasket, I can help someone out.

I go back to work Monday and I can order my new rods and get the crankshaft sent out to Bill Bune.

P.S. Many parts are still available thru Suzuki; rods, bearings, seals, waterpump, hoses, rubber items, fasteners, brake cylinder parts. Be sure to check a reputable dealer for availability before paying retail plus on E-Slave!

That is always excellent advice - I think only one crankshaft (09262-30013) bearing is NLA. and Paul Miller normally can supply them.
