Gotta shot innertube which seems to have left the valve altogether so need to get it to a shop. Was wondering if anyone could give me any tips for getting the rear wheel off. Do i have to take off the exhaust pipes for example?
Looks straight froward but really wanted to check with the team first.

If you undo and remove all the chain adjuster mechanism, the wheel will pull backwards without having to take off the exhausts.

Here's how I do it on my GT550:
1] Put a 2x4 (or other such spacer under the center stand) & lift the bike upon to it.
You may need some strong-arm help to do that as it's heavy!
2] Remove the top shock mount nuts & pull the shocks off the studs.
This will allow the swing arm to drop down to the floor.
3] Now you should be able to remove the axle nut & bolt from below the exhaust
Added benefit is you'll have lots of room to pull the wheel out rearwards.
Good Luck.

And this is without lifting the bike higher on the centre stand?
So,
- undo the chain (find the link)
- remove both chain tensioners
- undo the main bolt - but don't tap it through
- undo the brake cable and the connecting arm
And...the wheel should slide back and off?

Yes

You shouldn't have to split the chain - once everything is loosened off / removed, push the wheel forward first to get the chain off, although you might have to remove the rear mudguard too.
