[quote="shannon"]boys and girls..
the 1000 engine is in its final stages and will get its shakedown in 2 weeks

this was a test barrel... one cylinder on the dyno was making about 68hp at the rear at 7000 rpm and 45 ft/lb tourque..
the cracks are due to impurities in the alloy.. high iron content....
that has been sorted and the new pour was perfect!!

thats quite an intricate casting, why didnt you make it out of a solid billet.
as you are only making a few.

my hat is most definitly off to you on the acheivment.

Pedro, That's an interesting post. We know that teh Mk4 generally had no down tubes, but do you have pictures of a Seeley frame for a Suzuki twin to show us the differences?

Apologies for the quality of the photos but 10 Mega pixel cameras were not around in 1980. Long live the 126 format Kodak Instamatic :D

Thanks for the period pics.

Am I right in thinking that the frames Seeley made for two strokes were different to the regular MK2/3/4 frames to allow for the lack of a large solid cylinder head to tie it in to the frame?

I know that the Yamsel that Coop raced was similar to that picture but different to any of the regular Seeleys of the time.

I guess i should get a copy of his book to find out for sure.
