Hi all, my stock 1974 t500 carbs probably need a rebuild, would it be easier and more cost effective to just get these instead? what would i need to do to make them work on a 1974 t500 with stock airbox and stock exhaust? would they go right on? what tuning would have to be done? thanks!

It's just a simple aluminum bodied VM32. It's jetted differently and I don't think that stock jets will work in that carb. They will physically fit but will need to be set by trial and error.

Some Suzuki OEM Mikuni crabs were what they called homopressure and that means that the float bowls are vented to the intake mouth to change the fuel slope. If your are like that you may have to try different air jets to toip teh fuel slope.

bugger, so I guess rebuilding the stock ones is the only way to go?

Actually, I suspect that if your carbs are worn out, a new set of Aluminum bodied carbs might be a nice improvement, but you will have to jet them accordingly and of course if you are going to replace them, maybe sir might like to consider 34mm instead.
