Small body VM34 Mikuni

Has anyone tried using Mikuni OEM zinc small body 34mm VM round slides and if so any tips? I have a set from a late 90's Polaris triple snowmobile and they are very much like carbs from a J/K 750 except they are 34mm. Float bowl breather arrangement is different on a sled than a bike, but that's fine.

The advantage is that the carb is less deep than a stock aluminum VM34 and as such it easily clears the clutch cover without resorting to angled intake stubs. They are actually slightly smaller than J/K 32mm carbs and the outlet spigot is only 40mm versus 43 on a J/K, but I would expect that a K inlet rubber could be used.

Obviously jetting will need to be changed, but that's just brass. The air feed arrangement is very different to an Aluminum VM34 though and there's no air jet as such. The needle jet and slow jet share the one air intake port.

Anyone tried them?

I was inspecting them to order new brass and found that some of the internals are usually found on much smaller carbs. Interesting. But they are nice and short, if rather heavy.
