has anyone tried the new AVON Roadriders yet. The AVON rep i was talking to today claims they are really sticky.

I used BT45's on my last GT750 as they seemed to be the most grippy, but it's possible that the AVONS may be as good or better?

I've heard that they are good, but haven't personally used them.

Over on the Kawi 650 board I hang out on, this very subject came up in the last couple of days. One guy had used the RoadRiders and was very disappointed. He claimed they allowed the rear wheel to spin coming out of corners where the Metzlers he now has on will not spin.
Maybe they've improved the Avons after customer feedback ???

I have had them on my 73 Buffalo since last summer. The actually took the wobble out of my bike that all other tires could not. I ride pretty aggressively and found no fault in the tires.

Hmm, Mixed reactions there. That's not surprising I guess. I wonder why the XS guys are having problems. This GT should, according to my computer, make more power than the average XS, but maybe those XS's aren't average.

Thanks for the input guys.

I have them on my T200 they were the only company that made a matching set (front and rear tire) that came in the size I needed. I have no complaints about the tire.
but then again I ride like it's Sunday everyday!

I have them on my Hercules W2000 and they stick very well in mildly spirited riding, but remember I'm no racer. Overall I am very pleased with the tires.

I've had a set on my T140v Triumph for several years now and I have had no problems. They handle great and are sticky enough to pick up gravel when I pull into my driveway. I have ridden them really hard on the mountain roads around my area and can drag on both sides without worry. I like'um. They have saved me several times when I've picked a bad line.

I've got a set of Roadrunners on the GT500.
They are very sticky--grippier than the BT-45s that I have on my RD. They were the first things to go on the GT500 when I bought it. It made riding in the twisty roads and canyons so much easier. They have a lot of feel and you can really lean the bike over with confidence.
AHRMA guys race on Avons, if that's any indication of how sticky they are.

I race on Avon race tires but they have a much softer compound and different carcass construction.

Are you using race type Roadrunners on that GT or the street compound?

Street compound. I should have been more specific.
