Does your bike have the earlier 34mm carbs with hex jets?
All of ours have the 32mm carbs, with round jets.....stock size being 97.5. We find that the motors will run very nicely with stock jetting, BUT, you know that it will be running lean once the taps are open, due to the chambers. With the stock airbox, jetting up 2 or 3 sizes seems to keep it all in order. 102.5/105.
With pods, you will need to jet up a whole lot more, as these tend to flow more air than the stock airbox. Pods do vary, so you should do a plug chop to get it right, but we would recommend 115 or maybe 120 if you intend to ride it hard.
So I'm not too sure why it's running so rich?
