Chamber cone layout
Guys , here is a neat program if you are thinking about making a set of chambers or changeing a set to fit your bike better . You put in the angles of the ends and the size and it will allow you to print out a layout to trace onto the sheet metal . http://www.pulserate.com/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

Have you tried it Dave? It looks like a great way to create templates for a change in direction on a conical section. Mota does that for an individual section, but isn't quite as good for a whole pipe. I wonder what Walms uses or does he do it all in a 3d modeling package like 3D Studio Max?

I used that program to build the pipes on my dragbike.

I have a copy but have not needed to use it yet. How well does it allow for curvature of the pipes - tight versus gradual? Do you have to enter teh curvature data for one section at a time or one cone at a time in a multi-cone system?

Yes ... we used it to make the changes to the chambers for the injected bike , the design when printed out looks so strange but then when you roll it there it is a angled cone

It only does one cone at a time. You have to input the top, and bottom diameter, plus the angle on both ends, and then the centerline length. Hey, its free.

true .. but with the patterns another can be made exactly the same .

I've used this program a few times and for what I needed it, it worked great. also great for paper mock-ups.
but you have to wait for the program to load, 1sec for 1 day of installation almost 400sec for me.

I'm looking forward to giving this program a try. Until now, we have done a lot of trial and error mock up work...cutting, trimming, grinding etc, which is very slow and difficult to get right when a radical change of direction is required.

MOTA is the software we use & it allows for whatever portion you want to change direction, but it still needs to be broken by change, so for example tuning out or in requires that section to be developed and then the next turn and so on. It can do as many sections in one turn as you need/want.
In the end there's always some trial and error.
