There's a GT750 on ebay that the lister says has 'ford ranger electronic ignition'.

That's an odd one because the Ranger used an EEC4 ECU to control timing. My guess is that he used a Ranger trigger and fed 3 coils for wasted spark or managed to cram three Ranger triggers under the points cover.

I sent him a q on ebay, here's the reply:

"Not easy, but reluctor wheel timing and pick up work well. Pulls hard! look on internet."

Here's the auction link. Really ugly rear stays on the exhaust but likely does what it needs to do.

Might be an early Ranger 6 dist like this one, and pop on all coils as you surmised. Sure would like to see a picture under that cover :)

earlier models had tfi modules triggered by a spinning reluctor. not my first choice for a retrofit.
