T500M will not idle

Post by bikingbagga »

Engine overhauled / restored
New rings, Honed cylinders, Molly coated piston skirts, 115 psi compression both cylinders
Newtronics ignition installed
Before engine was taken apart I did do a crank seal check
Bike was running & idling when I bought it
Carbs rebuilt has stock jets & settings etc
Choke on or off has little effect on rpm
Bike smokes quite alo more than my Gt750
Idle screws has no effect on controlloing idle regardless of the setting

Could bad crank seal or a major vacumn leak cause my problems

HELP

The choke must have effect.
Control your valves 13370-32210 (is theregood level ?) or better, change them, if you have too smoke you are too rich.
If it's yours olds seal (possible) the color and the smoke smelling are different than another 2stroke with the same motor oil

I know it's expensive but it is not a good idea don't change middle seals
blue smoke on the horizon

Don't get hung up on the language issue - if you check the part number he gave, its for float valve assembly in the carb. He's suggesting that float shut-off/feed may be an issue. 8)

115 psi is a little low. Maybe the rings are not sealing in the honed bores.
