Thanks Jim,

That all makes sense. The Degner issue is interesting too. maybe they felt that to put that technology on a street bike would make it available to anyone to copy, but if they kept it on the works machines it might be a better marketing tool.

Pure speculation of course.

It looks like they added the second pair of transfers to the rear face. That's interesting.
That's exactly like the 76 and later 250 cylinders.. Those little ducts at the rear of the base transfer cutout wrap around to the boost ports... Each is isolated from the other in stock config... Here's a similar angled shot of the stock 250 cylinder...
