Power to the people

Post by tz375 »

Anyone got any dyno charts for TR or GT750?

I need a starting point for the work I'm doing on a motor and don't have a "before" chart or anything to compare to.

I know that the claimed 67 or 70 HP was more like 58 on a good one at the rear wheel, but not too many charts out there to compare notes.

Thanks

John,

That's not far off. TZ750 makes about 120 /2= 60 , but on a good day a stock GT750 makes more like 48-50.

I was interested to see what some of the dyno charts look like in terms of power spread at lower revs for example as much as to see what HP people made.

Here's one of Blueboy with stock carbs, pods and Jemcos. No major engine work at that time. Hope it helps.

If you stroke it more than twice; you're playing with it.

Too many bikes, too much time, ENOUGH SPACE, FINALLY! Never enough money.........

Lane,

that's a very nice, linear power curve, and 60+ at the wheel is pretty damn good .... :D
1976 GT380 - wounded by me, and sold on
2006 SV650S - killed by a patch of diesel and a kerb in Feb 2019
2017 SV650 AL7 - naked and unashamed

I don't have the printout from the later run with the lift-plate, and 34s, but it hit 79+ with a similar power curve. A little more pipey, but very manageable.

Thanks Lane, That's a very smooth curve.

Of course we can't really compare one dyno chart to another, but yours is looking really good.

I found one on the UK site and that bike made 46.8 stock and 53.9 with Allspeeds/Gibsons after jetting. they were happy with the 10% improvement.

Suzukidave had a quick and dirty dyno run on the yellow GTXR with pods and Bassanis and I think it made mid fifties which is about right. I don't think he had a graph though.

It all helps to build a body of knowledge.
