I did bring my "kiln" up to Ohio... Some "modern" transfer port, reed intake, and straight exhaust plugs with three sleeves....and a large crucible of molten aluminum...
At least for drag racing, is a water jacket that will stand up to city stop and go traffic in an Arizona summer really needed?

I think Tom is questioning whether or not a smaller radiator might not suffice on a drag bike. Maybe a small radiator from a dirt bike might work for the short runs on the strip.

If you stroke it more than twice; you're playing with it.
Too many bikes, too much time, ENOUGH SPACE, FINALLY! Never enough money.........

That would work for sure as i have a smaller and lighter radiator off a V65 Honda Sabre on my Yellow bike and it keeps things cool enough till i get in stop and go traffic and then the fan comes on . so for a drag run i can see a even smaller radiator working like off a dirt bike . http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/1991-CR5 ... ccessories
the older i get the faster i was

I have been trying out several different smaller radiator models from dirt bikes recently...so far, I like the KX60 which might get mounted on the RH frame down rails with revised brackets and modified engine inlet and outlet tubes to match the radiator. Then, I can get rid of the heavy radiator mounting lugs and use tabs welded to the frame rail.
I agree about the weight of the GT lower triple clamp...very heavy and it is on its way out. I am working on a viable replacement that will also allow smaller fork tubes. I have some parts coming this week and will have a much better idea if I am on the right track.

Im kind of interested in making some reed blocks. Ive got an early 72 motor with the studded head. And it so happens that im a CNC machinist. Ive made some rear sets and other various bits for bikes for a while. Ive also got good 3d modeling software at my disposal. I just dont have the knowledge of port timing and reed cages that you guys do. I would be more than willing to work with you and try this idea out further.

I'm not trying to hijack this thread, but...
Durgam, your signature is (perhaps) unintentionally amusing -

So does this mean you get paid/filmed having sex with older partners, or that you're just more experienced than most?
The correct spelling is 'amateur' (if that is the intention )
Cheers
