fuel tap modification to manual mode

Hi, my fuel tap for the later CV carb A-kettle does no longer shut off when engine is not running, I already installed a repair kit with new diaphragm and rubber seal, with little success. I definitely want to convert to a manual tap with ON / OFF / RES only.
I only found instructions on the web to convert the tap for the older models with VM carbs and 3 fuel outlets, but nothing for the newer tap with 1 outlet.
Can anybody here help me with some details? I cant figure it out myself.

On mine, I tapped threads in the center hole in the petcock body that feeds to diaphragm and plugged with a set screw with a little epoxy, also the hole between the diaphragm and bowl, I removed metal between the passages on the back side of the petcock handle to form a backward J. When the handle points front is OFF, when the handle points down is ON, when the handle points back is RESERVE

My post on converting an early GT triple petcock to manual. Have also used this method on T-series twins.

There is some variation in which passages to block off. So you need to confirm this for your specific petcock.
The size of the set screws also varies a bit from petcock to petcock.

It's easy to forget which position is which. So I use some red paint to mark the off position.
This also serves as a visible reminder that the petcock is manual.
