Gt550 jetting

Post by kawonda750 »

I am kind of surprised to see that the centre cylinder on the GT550 L has a smaller main jet. I thought that a leaner jet burned a little hotter. Does the centre cylinder not cool as well due to the front wheel blocking air flow? I would expect to see a bit bigger jet to remedy this.

I guess that I have it all backwards, as usual...

Am not a carb expert, but…

The center cylinder exhaust is different.
When switching to 3-into-3 exhaust, the jetting for the 3 cylinders is typically the same.

Ahh. Never thought of that. Thanks.

I am sure that I will come up with more dumb questions though...
