Dyno plots for 25%, 50% & full throttle (non 2-stroke)

Post by Craig380 »

I was idly browsing the SVRider forum when I found these three interesting dyno graphs from an SV650K3 fuel injected bike, that show the power & torque curves for 25%, 50% and 100% throttle (determined by the throttle position sensor).

The bike had stock ECU, exhaust, airfilter & box, the only divergence from stock is that the secondary throttle valve (STV) plates have been removed (which makes almost no difference on a steady throttle opening).

Interesting that even at 50% throttle, the bike's putting out 50+bhp, compared with the 71/72bhp at full throttle. Also that the torque output in the midrange (5 - 6K rpm) is almost the same at half throttle as at full throttle.

The black graph is power, the red graph is torque.
