Carb tuning....

Hello guys....I'm planning to fit some Taiwanese Okoe carbs to my mildly ported T500M. The carbs are 34mm, and are a copy of the Keihin flat/D slide unit.
I shall be using pod filters, but have absolutely no idea what size jets I should be using, or where to start.
Do any of you have experience that you could share?
Thanks in anticipation....

I really like the look of these carbs, and they are nicely made. I have fitted them to my T500M using the early short inlet manifolds. I hope I can get them to work....they come with a couple of spare jets, but none of them have any sizes stamped on them, which isn't very helpful...

Stealth Jets :D .

That's pretty unusual, do you have a source for alternative OEM jets?. Whoever sells them might be able to tell how to find/read the jet size.

Cheers Geoff

Was a bit curious & found a US retailer of Okoe carbs.
http://www.mid-atlantictrials.com/oko.html

They have a page comparing their gunuine Okoe carbs to Chinese copies.
Per that, its the Chinese copies that have unmarked jets.

Sorry for the bit of bad news.

Thanks JAB......no worries, they were very cheap. Funny thing is, that I thought the Okoes were a copy of the Keihins, so are mine a copy of a copy?.....
Fortunately, the jets are the same as the Keihins, and are readily available (with sizes on). I've ordered a selection of main and pilot, and we'll see how we go.
I had read Midatlantic's useful guide on setting the up as it goes ![*]Image[*]
