T500 exhaust seals

Post by greens888 »

Hi, just got new exhaust seals supposed to be for standard mufflers but too big too fit as the old ones fitted. Will not go in to the locating space just inside the muffler. Made of rubber over metal by the looks with the wire spring inside. Absolutely cannot be compressed into the muffler even when heated up to boiling point of water. Must be wrong. Any tricks I haven`t figured out? Steve.

They are a very snug fit Green....
Boiling them will only make them bigger. Heat the muffler and put the seals in the fridge. I have always had to knock them home with lube and a rubber mallet.
