Re: Water cooled 500
Hi guys i have just red this thread through i find it very interesting.
I have drag raced the 750 for some years,I have also road raced a tr500,
I am pretty familliar the these motors,Although i dont race these day's i do still have all of my bikes.
The engine in my 500 is a std t500 crankcase, with transfers filled with devcon and reshaped to suit the water cooled barrels, the std crank turned down,Complete with Stuffers,Pistons are TS250,Pic of the bike below.

Hi Old Racer,
Cool bike.
Did you have to move the studs for that watercooled top end, or "just" move the transfer ports?
BTW, what frame is that?

Re: Water cooled 500
Sorry tz,I should have said studs were moved,
The bike is one of two built by a guy by the name of John Dieterman,
TZ Forks and wheels and rear shock,Home built seat and fairings whch i have the moulds for,
It is said this bike was 30 pounds lighter than a factory bike.

Re: Water cooled 500
Yes, that one. The frame looked the same and we couldn't identify it. It looked similar to yours so I wondered if it had perhaps lost the W/C motor over the years. Looks like somepone had a street GT500 and put the motor into that chassis.

I don't know if it's one of john's,But it's not one of the pair of watercooled ones,They were both monoshock,This one is twinshock,The pic below is of the pair together,Mine is the one on the right, Also a pic of the other chassis.
