if the 73 engine has the 1400cc gear case capacity i would go with that one. The higher capacity helps prevent 4th and 5th gear burning up.

I would think running a land speed run it wouldnt matter much if the power band was very narrow but like said it would take a tranny that wouldnt drop you out of the power band between shiftsZook-e wrote:I've gotten close to 80HP but it becomes real peaky with maybe about a 1,200 rpm power band. the older i get the faster i was
