chke enricher adjustment

Post by kawonda750 »

Is there a way to adjust the choke on my GT550. ? It revs quite high when it starts on the choke.

After 4 times of carbs off and using the feeler gauge to set the carbs , I got sick of this 550 not running nicely. I took off the airbox which incidentally I am getting pretty good at doing smoothly, and used my vacuum gauge. Now I have a smooth idle and all three are pulling the same. The left carb was way off even though the slide was the same clearance as the other two.

A long ride is in order now.

believe it or not, it still wasn't running right. One cylinder was not synched right. Took them off again today and did the manual way and finally it is working on all cylinders at idle. It takes a while but it is also good experience. Well, I keep telling myself that anyway...

When I started it up after the latest reset it was not running on all cylinders at idle. After a few curses, I thought to check the wires from the points at the connection. The black wire had come out of the bullet connector. No problem after I plugged it back in again...

Let's just say, Live and Learn..

Good news. Sometimes it's the obvious stuff that isn't really obvious that causes the issues.
We tend to forget that the bikes in question are all about 50 years old now.
Think of how stupid the average person is, then realise that half of them are more stupid than that.

The connector came loose after the push to get the air box back in. A bit of a tight squeeze but on the bright side, I am getting very good at getting that box in and out....
