Erv Kanemoto Crank

Post by Stephendownunder »

G'day GT Friends
My GT recently set an Australian land speed record of 149.229MPH which was OK for 4th gear, the MF750 class. Next year we will put it in top gear & try a little harder in the MPSF750 class. We would like to try a Erv Kanemoto "pork chop" crank that I already have but have never installed. I read an old posting from Kris Berntain (I hope I've got the spelling correct) from 2009 but I could find what came of it....? Can Kris or others share their findings with this type of crank, particularly regarding max. hp & WOT. I'm currently running a piston-port engine, but have a full reed valve engine that could be used if reed Vs piston-port is better for this "pork chop" crank.

Thx
Stephen

Hi Stephen , welcome back to the forum :) that is a nice speed for 4th gear i would say , you must be some where around 115~120 hp now . I saw pictures that looked like Kris had finished the pork chop crank , reed engine but havent seen or heard of any results from his work .
the older i get the faster i was
