Mike H had a reputation for the smooth and well tucked in riding style. It would have been great to see him on a modern race bike where letting it all hang out and controlled slides are what it takes (apparently) to go fast.

I still remember reading about his death. I was stunned and in shock for quite a while.

Thanks for the memories,I was at that race,Had a fantastic viewpoint.
Myself and a mate were invited by a camera man to sit on the scaffold stage that he was set-up on.
It was at gerrads,so when you see them going around gerrads just think of me watching.
And as a bonus i have actually raced at this circuit.

And fritz i still feel sick to this day about his death.

I have had this photo for years. It is an example of elegance and beauty and about 20 other great adjectives about Mike and a 6 cylinder Honda.

I've got the same pic and happy to say I saw him race the Hondas (and others) in the late 60s and 70s.
Including a private 350 Yam at Silversone in '71 (I think) where although he didn't win, he lapped at the same speed as Ago on the MV.
Tragic loss.
