Here is a video of Eric riding in front of me on his V-Strom 1000 and I on my CBR900RR as we go through some back roads in North Carolina. Those of you who know the area will recognize the overhead pipe on US129 near the end of the video. You can also see him laughing and gesturing at the end of the video.

I always sent Eric off in front of me so I could use him as a rabbit of sorts. He was a pretty good rider plus he knew all the roads as he lived in the area. So I would just follow him and observe his brake light as a guide for the approach speeds in the blind corners.
