I have aluminum rims TAKASAGO should they be polished alu? or silver painted? the ones that I have have been painted silver including the sparks and hubs which is correct?

If they were mine, I would polish and laquer. Same with the hubs.
Depends if you want to show or ride, I suppose.
Hubs look nice polished then either laquer the ribbed centre part between the spokes, or paint it silver. Both look ok.
It's a pain to keep clean when the spokes are in!
Spokes should be plated, not painted as paint might be hiding rust.

I'm trying to do a full resto job original as in when it left the factory so I need to know what the original state was painted or polished????

I'm not at all sure the original rim was aluminum. My TS400 had steel rims.

According to the parts catalogue there were two choices akront or takasago, in the remarks is ALW by takasago must mean aluminum I think
