Allan, you jammy sod! That's gorgeous.

Thanks for the compliments, its a six foot bike at present but I can tidy up a bit to improve the details at a closer distance.

Re: 1976 TS400
Allen,
Question is the second muffler correct for 76? I'm doing a resto on the same bike so its nice to know and is the rear end fender plastic?

Re: 1976 TS400
Yes it is. I had a 76 also. I have an early 12V stator that will fit.... also a one-of reed-valve cylinder.

If you stroke it more than twice; you're playing with it.

Re: 1976 TS400
As usual things are not always as they seem. The 400 is going through a bit of work at present, the front end came off for new headset bearings and to strip and paint the upper and lower trees.
The forks got pulled apart for new seals and to see what fork oil was in there. Almost all of the black parts will need stripping and repainting, so as of recently thats the headlamp bowl, the headlamp ears, the battery box, airfilter box, gauge mounting bracket and some other smaller pieces.
The wiring harness also needs some work so I pulled that out to completely rebuild it as well.
The top tree after stripping, media blasting and new paint
The bike after the complete front end was reinstalled onto it, theres still loads of work ahead,

I fancy one of those, but the prices of the off road Suzukis is stupid nowadays.

Re: 1976 TS400
As an update, I had to find an airbox as mine had the mesh to hold the sponge missing and was not in the best shape. I found a decent one for $38.00 with free shipping so I got that, I also found the fork lower tree chrome shrouds for a great price as mine were really rusty. I've got tank and side cover decals coming as well as the wire harness off of the bike for rebuilding and upgrading. My most recent work was to sort out some repro indicators for the bike then after the stalks to fit and shorten them a tad as well.
Loads to do so I'm out of here to get at it again.

Re: 1976 TS400
The front indicator stalk alterations have been completed a while now and thought I'd post them here along with some other photos
Stock indicator stalk and repro one under it. The tape is to hold it in the lathe and prevent scratching the chrome
Now altered to the correct dimensions for fitting through the head light ears, and then I shortened it by about a 1/2 inch to bring the indicators in a bit.
Battery box needs stripping.
Acid stains.
Media blasted as well as the head light bowl and now in primer.
Harness to be upgraded and restored.
Lower tree after cleaning up the casting then media blasting and new paint..
