Need help finding points plate cam cleaner cotton
My points plate cam cleaner cotton is falling apart to the point I can't readjust it. It needs replaced. Has anyone ever seen these for sale anywhere or is there a specific name for them ? Hope I don't need to buy a whole new plate to obtain one. Is there something else I could use, that would be just as effective if I can't find a new one ? http://www.ebay.com/itm/3-72-SUZUKI-GT7 ... d0&vxp=mtr" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

Its just a piece of thick felt - why not check out a fabric shop ?

Re: Need help finding points plate cam cleaner cotton
On second thought, I have a lot of these in my polishing arsenal. I'll try to square a couple of these off and stack them as one is not wide enough. Maybe that will do the trick. http://www.ebay.com/itm/AR7-Accessory-f ... 2ecfc31d1e" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

Re: Need help finding points plate cam cleaner cotton
My points plate is a little different and it doesn't make it easy. Most plates have 2 thick wires that simply bend over top that felt or what ever you replace it with. My plate has 2 little stationary arms with an indentation. The felt is pushed into that indentation and it's just suppose to stay there.

Re: Need help finding points plate cam cleaner cotton
My plate isn't like that. There are 2 solid and stationary arms with an indent in between them. The felt is pushed into the indent and it is held place between the 2 arms. The arms will not bend. I believe the later plates are like mine and the earlier are like the ones that you describe. Im gonna make a new felt out of the polish disk I posted earlier. Im gonna take two and sandwich them together using contact cement. Then cut it into a rectangle.GT750Battleship wrote: Hi,you can prise those little arms apart to remove felt pad....replace with new pad & gently re clamp !
