Turn Signal Indicator = Charging Indicator

Post by markush »

could be of interest

The three-cylinders have no charging indicator lamp. While driving you will not notice that the generator does not work until you get stopped by the dead battery.

Here you can see how the turn signal indicator lamp also
works as a charging indicator lamp.

You must install 3 additional diodes on the rectifier and 1 wire to the headlamp. Also works with original turn signal relay and regulator

I use this for years. Sometimes with defective alternator it told me to return home earlier, only with the battery charge.

Clever ! :up: :up: I think there is something wrong with the links you posted and it took me a minute to figure out how to get to the file. The modified wiring diagram you refer to is this one - correct ? I had to shrink it a bit from your original 1808x1152 to get it to load properly. 8)

Hi!
Sorry :oops: :oops:
I forget everytime, that it is impossible to set picture-links directly from this side.

I corrected the links in my first post.

You also can see GT380 wiring diagramms in this directory

Just bought one of THESE (clicky) to fit to mine when it gets a bit closer to running.
I think the one in the picture is the Australian version as the pic is upside down.
Think of how stupid the average person is, then realise that half of them are more stupid than that.

Good point Alan,

I grabbed a few Digital Voltage Meters off an ebay supplier. They don't show charge amps but do show battery voltage and that's good enough for me. Like this http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/0-28-Mini-Dig ... 3f270564fd" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

On our race bikes we have used a DYNA battery minder or whatever they call it to see the state of charge. It's small and has three LEDS to indicate the state of the charging nation.
