Id be surprised if someone hasnt already done this but if not...I had been looking for an electronic ignition for the 74 I picked up but didn't really like anything I saw. The Boyer looks almost homemade and wasn't too impressed with the fit n finish on the one a buddy got for his bonnie , I didn't want exposed PCBs either. I wasn't keen on an external controller like the Newtronics (or optical triggers) This is what I came up with, cheap at 120$ out the door.

And does it work ? :D

Long time members or folks good at using a search tool will recall the Dyna S home brew which yours sort of resembles. Richard posted details on his web site - see this link:

Is yours the same thing ?

Yup sure does, tho right now my rotor is still just a functional mock up. The dyna home brew was actually the inspiration but I got tired of waiting on ebay for cheap enough used dyna setups to hack. These are Accuspark points replacement kits for VWs, similar to the pertronix ignitor.

Thanks,

http://www.accuspark.co.uk/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; I think it was kit 16 for bosch, Vw and pinto tho I'm pretty sure the module is the same in most kits, only the rotor and base plates change

I did, it's a 4 magnet trigger ring, using a razor I removed 3 of the magnets ( which was very easy) then used a piece of tubing (axel tube from the front wheel of a scag commercial zero turn mower, perfect diam.) Ground one side into a square to fit the inside of the trigger ring on the other end a notch to fit the GTs cam shaft. Ill snap a pic of the rotor next time I have it off. Really a very simple job.
I got them off their us distributor on eBay at 39.95 shipped each so 120$ total. I'm a cheap bastard so every cent counts
