Question: T350 battery wires

When I got my T350 (1970), the entire harness was off of it, so I couldn't really see how the harness was routed. Anyway, I'm nearing the very end of the restoration, and got all the electrical hooked up & working, but in looking at the wiring diagram and the battery leads, I've got one thing left that I can't quite figure out. I know the red wire & lug goes to the + terminal of the battery. But, there is a blk/white stripe wire (gnd) and also a white wire (ground too), that's molded into a plug-like thing that the red wire goes through too. My question is exactly where these lugs attach to? Seems a bit of a stretch lengthwise no matter how I do it. Does the white wire go to the center (gnd) lug of the rectifier? Seems like the rectifier wouldn't need it, since it's grounded to the frame anyway. Below are some photos. Any help would be really appreciated...

That red and white pair in a rubber connector is aftermarket. We use them a lot to connect to a battery charger, but no idea what your PO did with them.
What are the two (red, white) wires connected to? What color are they connected to and where do those leads go?

For the red wire, it is connected to the fuse on one end, and goes to the red wires that are tied together going to 2 of the rectifier diodes. The white wire goes to the center post (ground) of the rectifier, which then goes into the 2 other ends of the rectifier diodes.

Looks like the battery connection.
Suzuki used a similar connector for the battery that looked like this:
BatteryConnector.jpeg
Stock wiring:
red connects to battery +
black/white connects to battery -
The connector you have is an American standard connector that comes with red & white wires.
The PO replaced the stock connector with the American connector, hence the change in wire color from black/white to white.
From your description, it looks like the connector is wired up correctly.
The wires look a bit short to connect to the battery.
You can get another connector with longer wires at an auto parts store.
If you prefer a correct connector, you can get one at Oregon Motorcycle Parts.

Excellent, thanks! I think I will get the right connector, and add a bit more wire length. So really, all I need is the red + wire and the blk/white ground wires coming from the battery, the "extra" white wire that's on there now is really not needed, since it just goes to the rectifier center screw post anyway? Or should I just tie it together to the blk/white negative wire?

The bk/w wire attached to the rectifier diodes needs to connect to:
1) the battery bk/w wire that connects to the battery -
2) the bk/w wire in the wiring harness
3) the rectifier screw post
Some items (turn signal bulbs, etc) ground thru the frame.
Some items (stop light bulb, etc) ground thru the wiring harness bk/w wire
Not sure what you mean by "extra" white wire.

OK, good explanation, that makes sense. I'll hook it up that way. Thanks again!!!
