1975 GT250 no spark

Post by danxmax250 »

I have a 1975 Suzuki GT250 that is not getting spark. Do you have to have a battery to produce spark? I have replaced coils & condensers. But, have not hooked a battery up to it. I'm assuming the orange wires on the coils are positive?

Any help would be great! I want to get this little smoker going.

Dan,

It's not like an MX bike. They have a self generating ignition system and don't need a battery. Old bikes with points generally need a battery to run the ignition.

Hope is walys good and good luck is nice too. I find that checking and cleaning all the connections tends to improve my luck significantly.
