Hi everyone,
Can anyone suggest a good set of aftermarket coils to replace part no 33410-31010 I can use on my 1977 GT380. I've been looking at a set on e-bay sold by Legend - Motorcycles then I read the 1 star rating a previous customer had given so decided against them. Is there anyone out there that's using a set of aftermarket coils, and if so how are they performing. All suggestions will be much appreciated.
Kind Regards,
Glyn.

Re: replacement coils.
Cheers Markush,

Glyn.

Re: replacement coils.
Hi Glyn!
A friend of mine uses the Rexcauntracing-Coils in his GT250 and GT550.
He is happy with those, no problems. He used them first with points, later with electronic ignition.
I myself have no problems using the original coils, mainly the gray ones from Kokusan (T500.3402.12V), which I also take from the twin-sets to assemble triple-sets. I use them with electronic ignition, too.
If one coil fail, I still have enough replacement; I always bought some of them when they were cheap.
(I had only one really defektiv GT-coil in the last 40 years)
bye
Markus

Re: replacement coils.
Thanks Markush,
The coils on mine are the cream coloured ones, which I think are the Denso ones and I'm almost sure the left hand one is ready to fail. The bike runs ok but it's only producing a weak spark on the left cylinder. So rather than replace just the one I decided to replace all three as they are not an expensive item.
I will be ordering a set of Rex Caunt coils now I know there is someone else happy using them.
Kind Regards,
Glyn.

Re: replacement coils.
Hi!
Maybe of interest:
Some time ago we made some measurements of different ignition coils in the german Wartburg-Forum.
Someone put the outcome into diagrams.
One can see: the Denso-Coils (cream colored, 029700) aren't so bad in comparison to some of the so called High-Power-Coils.
(see diagramm in posting from 28. Dezember 2016)
