blinking blinkers are not blinking blinking....!

Post by Ramjam »

Hi everyone
on the right side, my blinkers don't blink but just stay on, whereas they do on the left.

Could anyone point me to the best and easiest fix?

thanks

first thing i'd go for is a bad [or no] earth to one of the right indicators. if the left side works ok then your relay should be fine. my money's on a bad earth :D i've had the same on mine, even though the continuity tester was showing the indicator stem and the frame were connected [when it buzzed], i.e. they were properly earthed, they weren't, so my indicators didn't flash.
cheers, dd.

With the stock flasher, the turn signal will not flash if one of the bulbs is burned out, or you replace a bulb with one that is lower wattage.

but surely if its burnt out, then it would't light up at all, no?

Yes, thanks for a good laugh.

Did you replace a bulb with a lower wattage bulb?

No, not yet. Haven't the faintest idea where to buy such tiny bulbs in the small town in live in, in Lebanon. Will look at the earth first though

Tiny?
Have you got original indicators?
They aren't that small. Just use normal 12v car indicator bulbs. They fit and are the same wattage as the slightly smaller bike ones.
However, I agree that it is most likely that you have an earthing problem, but check the bulbs are correct first.
