1980 A100 - Can I go from 6V to 12V?

Hey guys,
I'm currently working on an old A100 that I've only just (finally) working again. I want to update/modernise a few things, like the instrument cluster, but I'm limited by the electrical system.
It's got a 6V system that I want to convert to a 12V system. This will open up so many more options for speedo, lights etc - there are way more 12V modern things out there!
What I want to know is: will I need to swap out the stator, or will the current one be enough to charge a 12V battery? Of course, I'll be swapping out the rectifier and globes etc for 12V equivelants. There's no risk of the starter motor cooking the system since the A100 is kickstart only.
There's probably something that I've not considered, so please let me know if I have!
Cheers,
Scotty
