SB200/X5 & X7 ignition voltages

Post by Sakaboela »

I'm about 90% done with my SB200 cafe racer build. With any restoration I have encountered many challenges and problems. One that I haven't managed to fix is the CDI and spark. Before mounting my engine in the frame, I did get it running, but that was the last. Sourcing a replacement Box was even a bigger headache. Long story short, I am running a Chinese racing CDI for a GY6 scooter. I have spark but it is too weak. I would like to know if anyone can help me with the input an output voltages of a standard bike (seeing as the sb and Both X series use the same CDI). OR is there something else that I am missing? As far as I know, the wiring is correct acorrding to the manual. Any advice appreciated.

Many thanks. I am in South Africa so shipping will be a bit of a hassle and expensive. But who knows maybe its cheaper than I thought. Will look into it :D
