weird question about gt380 coil...patience required

Post by Ramjam »

Dear all
i would like to know HOW FAR in does one push the HT lead inside the coil 'hole'. Is it the entire length of the coil itself? Is there a screw at the other end of it to meet it? Or does it not matter as there is so much current being generated that in fact the wire inside the rubber HT lead doesn't even need to touch the coil 'screw'?

The reason why i am asking this is that i have some none standard new HT lead which i have to modify slightly.

please help if you can. It would make me a better person this weekend if i knew these things.

Only gt380 in Lebanon.

As far as possible. The spike or screw - depending on the type of coil - MUST go into the HT lead or there won't be a spark at the plug.
The current in the HT circuit is very tiny, the voltage is very high - as you will find if you hold the end of the wire and start the engine.
Think of how stupid the average person is, then realise that half of them are more stupid than that.
