TS100 Ign Capacitor INFOneeded

Post by joolstacho »

My very complete and original '73 Suzuki TS100 needs a new ignition capacitor.
The size is critical, if it's more than about 27-28mm long it rubs against the inside of the flywheel.
Does anyone have info on the correct Capacitor? Part Number? The one that came out has 25 marked on it, but it may not be original.
Cheers lads.

Have a look here - https://alpha-sports.com/suzuki_parts.htm
Year, model, flywheel magneto.

Thanks Alan, found it, - part no 32341-25690.
It's a quite difficult installation, with the wires going to the capacitor close to getting rubbed by the inside of the flywheel if not routed perfectly.
Needs a tagged + terminal on top to avoid this. I had used an untagged cap, consequently the wires soldered on top rubbed inside the flywheel.

BTW I should have looked! I used the CMS online parts manual:

Yes thanks guys, I've got one on order, we'll see if it has adequate clearance. The previous one I bought didn't

Just to clarify... The first capacitor I bought was LISTED as correct for a TS100, BUT it was too long by about 1mm so the listing was wrong.
This meant that the electrical contacts on the top of it slightly rubbed the inside of the flywheel rotor, shorting it out. Useless!
I now have the correct one (in Suzuki packaging). I'll post the measurement when I can get to it.
