Maybe some good news for ignition options.
While trolling thru ignition pictures on the web, I happened across Vintage Smoke. Vintage Smoke is owned and operated by Nick Pastore. Nick is an old friend of mine from about 10 or so years ago when he was one of my students at MMI Phoenix. We stayed in contact for a couple years and then we kinda faded away. When I seen his web site and what he was doing with Dyna ignitions for RD Yamahas I called him up to reminisce a bit. Nick performed all the r & d for his set up and is an excellent design, fit and finish. He also produces rear sets and other goodies for RD/RZ screamers. I asked Nick if he could look into designing a Dyna 2000 fully programmable ignition for the GT series Suzuki's. Nick stated that he works very closely with the folks at Dyna and he is going to do some checking on the possibility of a 3 cylinder set up with the Dyna 2000.
The Dyna 2000 is fully programmable with a laptop and can control any timing curve, rev limit, launch control, shift light, tach, and accessory switches for shift delay, shift light, nitrous or anything where the ignition may need to be altered. I plan on sending Nick an old GT750 left side ignition drive, cover and ignition plate so he can play with them.
Who knows, Maybe he can get something together that is readily available and reliable instead of the $1k plus programmable ignition systems I've seen.

That would be interesting. The DYNA 2000 has 2 circuits as I understand it to run 1-4 and 2-3 on a 4 cylinder. They use wasted spark, so they fire every revolution up to about 16,000. To operate on a triple they would need to either add a circuit or use one circuit to fire all three. At 8,000 rpm that's 24,000 sparks per minute.
For a two stroke twin it would be a relatively simple fit but for lower revving motors like a t500 for example a simple DYNA S would work fine.

Dyna S would seem to be a good idea for the T500/T250/T350/GT250.
But of what I've read it has a dwell of 315 degrees. Dwell for stock points is around 180 degrees.
The twins have a pretty meager alternator & a Dyna S ignition system would use a lot more current.

I haven't tried to measure the dwell, but a DYNA S does draw more current than points for sure

I know they can be set up on Harleys for wasted spark or single fire. I didn't realize that they have a large current draw. That could be a problem hmmm
