we just lost another US Suzuki dealer that discounts parts

Post by jabcb »

Dillon Brothers just updated their online parts system.
Now only go back to 1973 & they dropped the T-series & GT-series bikes.

Any suggested alternatives?

I think we should keep a sticky list of dealers that discount &/or have parts systems that go back to something 1969.

I noticed that yesterday also and have sent Martin a note. As you mention, the odd thing is that even if you know the part number it doesn't help as that part of the database appears to be missing completely. Same for the old Honda listings they used to have. Alpha Sports still list Suzuki parts back to 1965.

Quite annoying. 8)

I ordered a radiator hose from them back in September and it took almost a month to get it. Luckily Kevin (watercooled) helped me out with a hose set so I didn't have to wait that month to continue with the bike. Must have been a sign of things to come.

THEY DIDN'T DROP ANY PARTS. I talked to them by phone a few days ago. They haven't updated their new site with the older bikes as of yet. Martin, informed me that nothing has changed but the company name. He said, " It would be a week or possibly 2 before the GT bikes are added to the site's format. Just as it was before. " Infact, I made an order when I called.

I was very concerned also. They are very good guys to work with. Especially, calling themselves a Oem dealer. Everyone should mimic how these guys run a retail business. Class act.

Just checked & the Dillon's website still only goes back to 1973.

Boulevard Suzuki is another option. Their website goes back to 1968 & they discount.
Have never used them but guys on the GS forum use them.

Its a bit of a pain as they have not made the older listings easy to find, but they are there under a new URL: http://www.buymotorcycleparts.com" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

The prices on that Boulavard site are pretty good - but they don't appear to ship to Canada which is a real pain. :? I've sent them a note asking them to confirm what their policy's are. 8)

http://www.partsfish.com/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; This is another website run by Dillon Brothers that I have used. It gives an option for Pre-1973.

Good prices here.
I just priced 12 parts that I still need and when comparing to both Bikebandit and Motosport, boulevardSuzuki beat Motosport and Motosport was lower than Bikebandit.
Enough of savings for me to order these parts with BSuzuki.
I check the Dillon Brothers site and there prices are more inline with Motosport.

Dillon's website currently goes back to 1968.

Dillon Brothers parts are now here: http://www.partsfish.com/page/oemparts
Scroll down to "Suzuki parts for sale -"
Click on "Vintage Pre 1973 Kawasaki Parts"

If you do this, you end up at: http://www.buymotorcycleparts.com/suzuki_parts.htm

Their link for "Vintage Pre 1973 Kawasaki Parts" is a typo.
