Post by astrax »

Have made a number of brake caliper dust seal rings and the seat lock parts in stainless steel
If anyone is interested please send me a PM, or if you have any ideas of other similar parts to be made from stainless

Hi Allan
Got PM, have replied with cost.

Whenever I make anything for my bike, I try to do a few extra of each to hopefully help some of the guys as a lot of the parts I make are not available and also helps me lower the per item cost if I get 10 laser cut, rather than 1 cut.

The carb brackets are good example, 1 off cost for the first pair to be laser cut including the stainless plate, I paid £38 for a roughed out profile, but me getting 10 pairs cut I can get much cheaper and able to sell a pair for usually £28 and that is after I weld the nut on, bend the fingers and spending over an hour sanding and polishing.

It is a shame the caliper rings are not visible on the brakes when they are assembled, I still polish them though :D

Thanks for nice comments
Ian
